No More Swoops For The Seagulls?

No More Swoops For The Seagulls?
Brighton manager Gus Poyet has hinted that there will be no further additions to his table topping squad. Poyet started the the transfer window with the 300,000 capture of Plymouth Argyle Winger, Craig Noone, and followed that up with the extension of Chris Wood's loan until the end of the season.

At present Poyet does not see the need to dip into the market, which closes a week today, unless he loses any of his current squad. But he also suggested that scenario changes every day.

Elliott Bennett and Glenn Murray have been subject to the most speculation about leaving, but Poyet hopes to keep them both.

If anyone does leave, Poyet will have to act quickly to replace them, but he does have the luxury of loan window to fall back on should he not sign anyone permanently.

One of Poyet's main targets, Ryan Harley has signed for Swansea City on a free transfer, but was loaned straight back to Exeter for the remained of the season.

Poyet had a 400,000 bid turned down for the midfield play maker, but Exeter wanted to keep him until the summer to help their push for promotion.

The deal with Swansea meant that they got their wish, but missed out on a short term, healthy profit.

The Seagulls have Alan Navarro and Kazenga LuaLua to come back in after lengthly injury lay offs, they will seem like two new signings in the run in to the end of the season.
