Adams Preparing Raid On Former Club

Adams Preparing Raid On Former Club
Former Brighton manager, Mickey Adams is preparing a raid on The Seagulls for leading scorer Glenn Murray.

Adams, now in charge of Championship struggelers, Sheffield United, sees Murray as the man who can fire them to safety.

Murray who is out of contract at the end of the season has yet to agree a new deal with The Seagulls, so can leave as a free agent in the summer.

If he were to leave in the January window, Brighton would at least recoup some of the 300,000 they paid to Rochdale in 2008. Murray leads the Albion scoring charts this season with 11, and has scored 42 goals in his 97 appearances for the club.

Adams worked with Murray for a few months at The Albion, with Murray scoring in the famous penalty shootout win over Manchester City in The Carling Cup.

Scunthorpe United and Sheffield Wednesday are also keeping tabs on the 27 year old as they wait to see if he signs a new deal with The Seagulls.

Murray has twice been on the transfer list at his own request as he found it hard to settle on the South Coast. This season everything seems to have clicked into place. He hasn't suffered many injuries and eventually found form on the pitch scoring 11 goals.

He has stated his happiness at staying with The League One table toppers, and talks have already begun with Murray's agent about a new contract for the striker.
