And So a Replay Beckons...

And So a Replay Beckons...
Now they face a midweek replay at a tricky ground where the home fans will believe they can cause an upset. There are no complaints from this reporter though. In previous articles I have questioned the value of the FA Cup to the Albion this season, dismissing it as a mere distraction from the league campaign. But we owe it to our opponents and potentially our next ones in round two. Woking have a history of cup upsets, FC United of Manchester began their history on Friday night with a last gasp winner in a 3-2 victory over League One newcomers Rochdale at Gigg Lane.

The irony of the draw is that there may be sections of FC United fans who, would prefer Woking in round two. Simply because, on paper Woking are easier opponents and the ultimate aim for FC United will be a glamour 3rd round tie. Who knows it may even be the Franchised Manchester United where advertisement, corporate hospitality to finance stupidly high wages are more important than the fans who remember when times were not so good.

However fans of FC United must remember that it's one game at a time in football, and should they be knocked out in round two the away tie against the Seagulls will generate more money. Sticking to that philosophy the Albion have to overcome their Surrey neighbours and as the FA Cup continues to prove, nothing is straight forward.
