Whing Off To The Orient
Whing was named Brighton's Player of the Season in 2009, but has struggled to fit in with manager Gus Poyet's plans since he took charge.
The dependable right back will be linking up with old Brighton boss, Russell Slade as he tries to keep Orient in League One. He will also join former team mates Dean Cox and Alex Revell at the Match Room Stadium.
The deal will see Whing move to Orient on a loan deal until the end of the year.
Whing's Brighton contract is up at the end of this season, meaning he is will become a free agent, unless Brighton offer him a new deal.
Whing's departure would leave very little cover at right back should the in-form Inigo Calderon get injured or suspended. Adam El Abd has filled in there in the past, as has Gary Hart, with the only other options being Steve Cook, who is out on loan already or Grant Hall.
Whing has become the third member of Brighton's defence to go out on loan, along with Jim McNulty (Scunthorpe) and James Tunnicliffe (Bristol Rovers).
