Referee:

Brighton's Championship season continued with a nil-nil draw against Brentford at Griffin Park on Boxing Day.

It's now four-matches without a win for Brighton, which could have seen another defeat suffered had it not been for David Stockdale who had several saves including a late James Tarkowski header to literally save a point with Jamie Murphy going closest for Albion.

These were the other results.

Bristol City 1-1 Charlton
Derby 2-0 Fulham

With leaders Middlesbrough seeing their game at Blackburn postponed this opened the door to Derby, who in winning two-nil against Fulham moved to the top of the Championship table.

Bolton's troubles continued with them hammered by fellow strugglers Rotherham (who made it back-to-back wins) four-nil with Cardiff losing more ground on the play-off places with a defeat at MK Dons, who eased their troubles slightly as the year moves closer to an end.
