Brighton's Championship season continued with a two-two against QPR at Loftus Road on Tuesday, which saw a two-goal lead lost as Albion dropped to second behind Middlesbrough.

After the goalless first half Brighton went ahead when Dale Stephens volleyed an unusual goal past England 'keeper Rob Green early in the second period, which QPR weren't happy with as he could have fouled Sandro in the process!

Two-minutes later, and from 30-yards, Wolves loanee Rajiv van La Parra smashed in Albion's second (via a deflection) to leave a win very much on but QPR replied fairly quickly with Charlie Austin pulling one back, at the second attempt, from close range.

Brighton lost Lewis Dunk to a second yellow card, which will also mean him missing the top of the table showdown this weekend, after a foul on Alejandro Faurlin in the final minutes with Austin capitalising on this advantage to head home an equaliser two-minutes from time.

The unbeaten run was extended but Albion dropped to second after surrendering the two-goal lead with Middlesbrough (ahead of the pre-Christmas showdown on Sky Sports this weekend) going top!

These were the other results.

Thursday 17th December 2015

Looking at these results the stand out ones (so far) have to be wins for Middlesbrough and MK Dons.

Whereas a reference has to be made to both Cardiff and Brighton, who lost two-goal leads! In the case of the Bluebirds though they recovered to beat Brentford three-two but the Seagulls had settle for a two-two draw with QPR that saw them lose top spot.

Middlesbrough's fine run (of cleansheets too) went on with a one-nil win over promotion rivals Burnley with this win at the Riverside Stadium seeing them claim the lead in the Championship ahead of the top of the table meeting with Brighton this weekend!

Play-off pushing Sheffield Wednesday saw their hopes suffer a setback with a surprise setback at MK Dons with Karl Robinson's side running out two-one winners to collect an important three-points at the Stadium:MK.

It'll be another full schedule this coming weekend, the final games ahead of Christmas.
