Vital Report - Bolton 2-2 Brighton

Referee:

Brighton's Championship season continued with a draw at the Macron Stadium against Bolton on Saturday.

An unbeaten start to the season was maintained by Brighton, however having been two-up to be held to a point at Bolton will be disappointing. Stephen and Murphy had Albion in charge before Danns pulled one back, after losing Murphy to a red card Madine equalised for Bolton in injury-time to see this end in a two-two draw.

Bolton made a good start with Clayton almost marking his first appearance of the season with a goal but Brighton 'keeper Stockdale tipped his effort over.

A couple of efforts from Baldock almost had Brighton ahead before Stockdale again saved to keep out a Feeney effort before the breakthrough came for Albion. Zamora, in his first start for Brighton since returning - 12-years after his last - made the most of an Amos fumble to set up Stephens (31) for the opener.

Just four-minutes later Rosenior came forward to find Murphy (35) who made it two-nil!

By the time Bolton got one back just before half time when Stephens' challenge on Madine saw the ball break to Danns (41), who made no mistake, Greer could have headed Brighton three-up.

Rosenior could have restored the two-goal lead but after Murphy was shown a red card for a foul on Danns Bolton sensed the change to get something with Madine the main threat, being denied by Stockdale who when he was beaten this was ruled out for a foul by Madine on the 'keeper.

In injury-time Madine (90) did level, and this one counted, as he finished a cross from Feeney.

Nine-matches unbeaten is a great record for Brighton to have but this, having been in control at two-nil up it could been another win though....
