Still Brighton's Championship survival hasn't been secured with us continuing to look nervously over our shoulders, more so following a first Wigan win at home since August when they won it late on as we met on Saturday.

Wigan will still, it seems, have to pull off something spectacular to overturn their five-point deficit to safety with only two matches to play with Millwall the ones that may feel they have the better chance and certainly of catching us!

It's still in our own hands but this two-one setback at the DW Stadium was another major disappointment and does leave us worried with Watford and Middlesbrough, both seeking promotion, to play....

Chow (26), who only made his debut in the defeat at Millwall on Tuesday, marked his home debut with a goal as he headed home a Pennant cross to give Wigan the lead. We would have replied immediately following a Kayal run but Wigan 'keeper Carson saved well.

Wigan had the chances to extended the lead before half time, Pearce went close with Stockdale keeping us in it when he denied McClean when he went through one-on-one with our 'keeper.

Soon after half time we got back into the game when Stephens (55), left unmarked by the Wigan defence from a corner, was able to made it one-one and settle our nerves again.

A failure to take our chances, to complete the turnaround and almost certainly win, was something we regretted with LuaLua having more than one opportunity. More so when Fortune's cross eventually allowed Perch (81) to win it for Wigan with less than 10-minutes to play.

The Wigan hopes of avoiding a second relegation in three campaigns remains alive for our hosts and still a concern for us! To think that a year ago both of us made it to the Championship play-offs....
