Champ - Brighton 2-3 Nottingham Forest

2 - 3
Nottingham Forest

Amex Stadium

07/02/15; 3pm

Attendance: 26,267

The Blackpool defeat that Brighton suffered last weekend was followed up by another defeat on Saturday as we were 'edged out' by Nottingham Forest in a five-goal thriller, which really sprang into life in the closing stages of the first half....

How often does it happen, we saw it ourselves when Chris Hughton came in, that you get 'a reaction' to the appointment of a new manager - Forest, having sacked Stuart Pearce, got this to the appointment of Dougie Freedman with him seeing his side get the better of us at the Amex as they went away with a three-two win.

We had chances to take the lead, we should have taken at least one of them before Holla was denied when his freekick struck the bar but it was another of his freekicks that saw Dunk (42) head us into what looked like being a half time lead, former loanee Gardner might have helped this home though.... Forest were level when Collins (44) made it one-one, capitalising on a Stockdale mistake.

A Brighton win still looked more likely but it was Lansbury (63) who scored through a crowded penalty area to put Forest ahead and a late Osborn (86) tap in looked to have secured the points before a last minute debut goal from Kayal (90) as he flicked home a fine header from a LuaLua corner to gave us hope of securing a dramatic point, which is what the pre-game poll was convinced would be the outcome:-

Draw 100%
Brighton win 0%
Nottingham Forest win 0%

Had it not be for Lascelles deflecting another Kayal effort onto the bar at the death it would have ended as such but Forest held on to win three-two, with us remaining just above the relegation zone.

Following this game, as is customary of course, even though we're disappointed that our run of home form now reads just one win in the last seven, attention now turns to the MotM for us - who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views.

We'll not have too much time to ponder this, or dwell on defeat, as focus will soon have to turn to our next game, which comes in midweek....
