Brighton 1-1 Bolton

Albion were cruelly denied by a stoppage time equaliser from David N'Gog as an inspired performance from Adam Bogdan prevented a handsome victory for the Seagulls.

Ashley Barnes also missed a penalty as the hosts produced a hatful of chances that in truth should have seen them out of sight by half-time. As it was, it required a stunning strike from Bruno Saltor to break the deadlock on 54 minutes, before N'Gog rescued an unlikely point for the Trotters in the 96th minute.

The woodwork was also shaken 3 times by a close-to-rampant Seagulls side, with Craig Mackail-Smith heading against the bar, and midfielders Andrea Orlandi and Dean Hammond seeing long-range efforts re-bound back off the upright as lady luck appeared not to be shining on Poyet's men.

A belatedly deserved lead was taken when Orlandi's free-kick was cleared away to a lurking Bruno Saltor, who proceeded to bring the ball down and hit a sensational, dipping 25-yard half-volley into the far corner, as the Spaniard bagged his first goal for the club.

Orlandi and Will Hoskins spurned chances to extend Albion's lead to a more comfortable margin, but they were dealt an almighty, but not entirely untypical blow when Chris Eagles stole a march down the left before setting up N'Gog, whose side-footed effort bounced in off the post past a hapless Tomasz Kuszczak.
