Blackpool vs. Brighton

Bloomfield Road

Sun 29th Dec 2013

3:00

Blackpool v Brighton

Brighton face a Blackpool side that can't buy a win at the moment on Sunday, as we look to get back on track after the disappointing Boxing Day defeat.

Blackpool Team News:

Blackpool will be missing the suspended Kirk Broadfoot; he was sent off in the Boxing Day draw and starts a four-match suspension.

Hamstring injuries to both Ricardo Fuller and Isaiah Osbourne are likely to keep them out but Angel Martinez is looking to be involved after being unused in that draw with Leeds on Boxing Day after returning from suspension.

Player to watch: Tom Ince

Possibly playing one of his final games for Blackpool before a Premier League move in the New Year?

Brighton Team News:

I didn't think that Kaz LuaLua was suspended on Boxing Day; I thought he had one more yellow card to collect before this? He didn't but he's back from suspension now.

Gordon Greer's calf problem see him continuing to struggle with Bruno taken off complaining of a tight adductor muscle on Boxing Day, he needs further assessment before a decision is made.

Tomasz Kuszczak stayed on the bench again against Charlton, and I think Peter Brezovan deserved to keep his place, but the former Manchester United goalkeeper could be ready to return at Bloomfield Road.

Player to watch: Leo Ulloa

In his first start since October he scored twice, more of the same against Blackpool and that tight defence we've had could make the difference.

Match Facts & Stats

Brighton haven't won at Bloomfield Road since 2000, and in five returns since we've lost three and drawn two.

Match Prediction:

We were unbeaten against Blackpool last season, winning impressively 6-1 at the Amex then drawing 1-1 at Bloomfield Road so hopefully that unbeaten run can continue against a Blackpool side that's failed to win in five, the draw with Leeds ended a run of four straight defeats. I'd not be unhappy with a point but three should be the aim.

Next Fixture:

The next game we'll play will be at home to Bournemouth on New Years Day. That starts at 3:00.
