Brighton Set For New Club Record?

As Brighton head towards the end of March and we await the return of real football following the international break, the numbers have been crunched on attendances at the Amex so far this season, and as things stand the club is on course to set a new highest-ever average crowd record.

With six wins and six draws out of the 15 matches on home soil in our debut year in the Premier League, the average attendance stands at 30,351 with over 450,000 seeing the club in action so far this year.

That's compared to an average of 27,995 for the 2016/17 season in the Championship.

The Arsenal game saw over 30,000 supporters in attendance for the 12th time so far this year, and it was our sixth game in a row that attendance was above that figure.

Speaking to the Official Site chief executive Paul Barber explained.

'It's fantastic to see that we're breaking attendance records during our first season in the Premier League. We've had a good season so far - but the job is not finished yet, and we're looking forward to welcoming fans back to the Amex after the international break for the vital games against Leicester City and Huddersfield.'

The next two games should see Brighton break the 500,000 fans mark for the campaign.
