Brown Returns To Chelsea Following Injury

Brown Returns To Chelsea Following Injury

Brighton have today confirmed reports that suggested Izzy Brown had already made a return to parent club Chelsea after he sustained an injury in the FA Cup tie with Crystal Palace.

The youngster picked up the problem early on in the game on Monday evening, and a knee scan has confirmed he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.

The player heads back to Chelsea for further assessments and treatment, and I'm sure all at Brighton wish him a speedy recovery.

Speaking to the Official Site manager Chris Hughton said of the blow.

'It's one we didn't expect. It's really disappointing news for all concerned, but obviously more for Izzy than anyone else. He's a young lad who has made a really good impression at the club and in the second half of the season he would have played more games.'

Hughton went on to say.

'It`s still very fresh for everyone, but we are grateful to Chelsea for the loan, and to Izzy for the impact he has made during the first half of the season.'

Having joined us over the summer, he made 14 appearances in total during his loan spell at the Amex Stadium.
