Watford Was A Turning Point - Gross
Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross has said he feels that the clash against Watford was a key turning point for the side this season in the Premier League.
Speaking to the Official Site with the October international break in full flow, the German said that the overall performance put in by Brighton at Vicarage Road had given everyone in the squad the belief that could compete in the top flight after a difficult start to the 2017/18 year.
'The first two games against Man City and Leicester were tough because they were my first two in the Premier League. From the third game we did much better, playing well in every game, with the chance of taking points. The performance in the Watford game convinced us that we can win games. We kept a clean sheet, took our first point and then we believed that we could win against West Brom. Since then we`ve played with more confidence, which was important.'
Reflecting on the recent tie against Arsenal, Gross again felt we could take the positives and look for a good result against Everton when football returns.
'We didn`t play too badly, but we could`ve played with a bit more self-confidence and scored a couple of goals. They had chances too, but we perhaps had to play the last pass a bit better.'
'Now I only have the Everton match in my mind, and that`s the most important game. We have to take it game by game and we have to fight for every point, because we are not in a position to think about games that are too far away.'
