March Ready For Premier League Kick Off

March Ready For Premier League Kick Off

Solly March has said he's fit and raring to go ahead of our Premier League kick off this weekend against Manchester City.

Hosting Pep Guardiola's side at the Amex later today for our first taste of Premier League football, March told the Official Site in his own pre match press conference that he was raring to go.

Having come through the minor injury scare in last weekend's friendly against Atletico de Madrid, March said he felt in perfect condition for City and couldn't wait to get going.

'For a moment I was a bit worried as there was just a bit of bruising on my calf, but it`s all good now. Hopefully by Saturday I`ll be in good condition for the game. It`s helped me having a full pre-season to get some fitness and strength into me; I am stronger than ever. It`s to do with the mixture of power and gym work which has helped my fitness. Everything is good now - I feel fit and ready to go. Hopefully it`s a good season for everyone.'

The England under 21 international went on to say that rather than feeling intimidated by City and the names we will face, the group was relishing it.

'It`s a good thing, we could be playing them midway through the season when they`re firing on all cylinders and know how we play. They have got some world-class players and have spent a lot of money, but hopefully we can give them a shock on Saturday. We want to compete as well as we can. You play with no fear because we`re expected to lose on paper, but we can put in a good performance and getting one point or three would be great.'

He ended by saying.

'I`ve had a lot of ticket requests for the game, but as long as my close family are there, I`m going to be happy. They`ve helped me a lot, especially through injuries and the harder times with me being out for a year; but even in the good times too, they`ve supported me and helped me through it. They`ve given me confidence and belief.'
