Gross Achieves Premier League Dream

New signing, midfielder Pascal Gross, has said he's looking forward to testing himself in the Premier League as it's been a childhood ambition of his.

Having come in from Bundesliga side Ingolstadt and joined up with the group this weekend for the testing and assessment phase of pre season training, the 26 year old was relishing the challenge that was ahead of him but he was determined to make the most of the four year contract he signed at the Amex.

Speaking to the Official Site he admitted his eyes were on Manchester City on the opening day and he was determined to do all he could to make his competitive debut for us in that game.

'It`s my dream. I will train very hard all pre-season, and I hope the manager picks me to play in the first Premier League game at the stadium against Manchester City. I will work very hard to make sure I am in the best shape heading into this game. When you grow up in Germany, it`s a dream to play in the Bundesliga and once I did that, it was to play in the Premier League. In Germany, people also look at the Premier League as it`s one of the biggest leagues in the world, so I am very happy to play here and I can`t wait for my first game.'

With Uwe Huenemeier welcoming his compatriot previously - Click Here - Gross went on to say he was looking forward to playing alongside him and he was pleased that manager Chris Hughton had given him the opportunity.

'I would say that I`m a number eight or number 10 in the central position in midfield. I can be offensive, and also work hard without the ball. My best attribute is I can create chances, that`s how I play. I am very happy to play alongside him (Huenemeier). He`s a good player, who heads the ball well and has got good character. He`s got the German mentality, wants to win every game and is a fighter. I am very happy to play next to him. The manager is happy that I am here. He also gave me the feeling that he wants me in this team. All I can say is that I am very thankful for the offer and I want to give everything back.'
