Albion Aware Of Leeds' Wood Threat

Albion Aware Of Leeds' Wood Threat

Uwe Huenemeier could potentially be part of the Brighton defence looking to nullify the threat of Leeds striker Chris Wood this evening as Albion aim to keep the Championship title bid on track.

With 22 goals so far Wood is the leading goalscorer not only for Leeds but also in the Championship this season. The New Zealand international has clearly proven he'll not need too many opportunities and would therefore be looking to add to his tally at Elland Road.

Huenemeier is well aware of the danger Wood - and Leeds collectively - pose to Brighton but has said the defence is ready for this.

Ahead of the game he told the Official Website.

'He`s doing really well and scoring goals in nearly every game he plays. He`s really clinical in front of goal and doesn`t need many chances. He`s even better than last year, when he also scored a lot of goals, but this year they`re playing better football and pressing higher. We`re aware of that and Chris Wood, he`s always on the edge of the back four scoring goals, and we have to be ready for that.'

Brighton will be in action after Newcastle once again so their result against struggling Birmingham would be known ahead of our game in Yorkshire.

Then again whatever happens with Newcastle at St Andrew's the Albion intention will remain the same, keep Wood quiet and secure three points at Elland Road.
