Birmingham v Albion (Preview)

Birmingham v Albion (Preview)

Brighton avoided a League Cup upset in midweek as Sami Hyypia got his first win as our manager, he'll be looking for a first Championship win to follow this up with on Saturday at Birmingham.

Birmingham defender Gavin Gunning damaged his knee on his debut for the club on Tuesday and will miss this game, and plenty more to come it's expected. Clayton Donaldson and Mark Duffy both scored in the League Cup win over Cambridge to possibly earn starting places.

Albion should welcome back Solly March from his back problem but Andrew Crofts continues his suspension after his sending off in our defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last week.

Kaz LuaLua will come back in but Will Buckley became the latest player to move on this week when he was sold to Sunderland to link up with Gus Poyet again.

We've got a good record against Birmingham with just one defeat in the last six meetings since 1996, this was in September 2012 when they won 1-0 at the Amex. Sami would love this to continue.

A repeat of the 1-0 win at St Andrew's last season would be very welcome.
