Albion's Pre Season Ends With Saints Defeat

Albion's Pre Season Ends With Saints Defeat

Brighton ended pre season with the setback of another loss as Southampton came to the Amex and went away with a 3-1 win on Thursday.

Aaron Hughes and Chris O'Grady joined fellow new signing David Stockdale in making Albion debuts against our south coast rivals who, like us, are going through something of a transitional phase but they've sold off many more than us this summer and for a significant amount of money.

Stockdale had already been forced into one good save before Dusan Tadic put Southampton ahead with the lead doubled just before the half time break through Steven Davies.

Any chance of an Albion fightback was ended on the hour as James Ward-Prowse drove home a 25 yard effort to extend the lead further.

Kaz LuaLua did pull back a late goal for us, firing past Artur Boruc, but it was too little too late as pre season ended with defeat with Sami Hyypia now looking to bolster the Albion squad ahead of the Championship kick off on Saturday week.
