O'Grady - I Want To Hit The Ground Running

New signing Chris O'Grady has said he hopes his experience of the Championship can help him hit the ground running quickly following his Friday evening signing for the club.

The former Barnsley striker has signed a three year deal with us, and he joins in good form having scored 21 goals at Oakwell in 18 months.

With Barnsley's relegation last term, O'Grady still found the net 15 times and the 28 year old believes that he can continue that form and thrive for us now.

Speaking to the Official Site with the ink now dry on the deal, he explained.

'For the past two seasons I've hit double figures and that has been a reflection of the desire and hunger that I have to succeed at this level. I will always give everything, no matter who I'm playing for, but having played for Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday in the past, I know what it's like to play for a big club - and Brighton certainly fall into that category.'

O'Grady goes on to admit that earlier in his career playing for clubs like us would've been quite daunting, but with age and experience behind him now he's confident he can handle those extra pressures, and win the fans over by channelling the expectations into producing his very best form.

'It's fantastic to be joining a club which such big ambitions and to be joining in the peak years of my career.'

He moves to us having played in well over 350 games, scoring 91 times.
