Lewes 0-5 Brighton

Lewes 0-5 Brighton

New manager Sami Hyypia couldn't have asked for a more comprehensive start to life at the club as his very first match in charge ended with a thumping five nil win.

Ok, it's our first pre season friendly of the summer, and very few people would've expected us to lose, and we all know the result is irrelevant as it's about gaining fitness, sharpness and helping the players get back into the swing of things at this stage, but I doubt that will have wiped the smile off the gaffer's face this afternoon.

Winning goals came from Inigo Calderon, Kazenga LuaLua, Craig Mackail-Smith and a double from Shamir Fenelon (the footballer formerly known as Shamir Goodwin).

It was also a first debut for summer signing Nzuzi Toko, who took up the protective role in front of the back four for his 45 minute run out.
