Bruno Speaks After Signing New Deal

Bruno Speaks After Signing New Deal

Full back Bruno Salter yesterday evening signed a new contract with Brighton and the Spaniard has said he's targeting a good pre season and a strong start to the campaign under new manager Sami Hyypia.

Bruno told the Official Site that starting well in 2014-15 would be key to our hopes of avoiding the play off spots and going up automatically, after he put pen to paper on a new 12 month extension.

'My objective was to stay here because I'm really happy. Not just me, but my family as well. We love Brighton and I'm enjoying the football. In my mind, our aim should be to win promotion to the Premier League.'

Bruno goes on to say that the experience our gaffer has, especially as a player, is plain for everyone to see, but he also carries good experience and a good record as a manager as well, so he feels he'll do well for us at The Amex.

'That is really important for the club, and it's a fresh start. He is very straightforward, which is good for us.'

With fellow compatriot Inigo Calderon also signing a new deal at Brighton, Bruno added that it was good to have another quality player committed to the club, so what everybody now needs to be focused on is starting well in the season and the players only have to look at how Leicester City responded to their play off disappointment, and performed from the very first match last season to know how important it is that we get off to a flying start.

'We know it will be a very tough league once again. Leicester had a strong start last sason and went on to win the league, so that has to be our aim for pre season, get off to a good start.'
