Ankergren, Bruno & Calderon Sign 12 Month Deals

Ankergren, Bruno & Calderon Sign 12 Month Deals

Late yesterday afternoon, Casper Ankergren, Bruno and Inigo Calderon all committed to Brighton until next summer.

All three have now resumed pre season training at our new American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, based in Lancing, and will be in contention for the pre season opener against Lewes on Saturday. But it wasn't just training that was accomplished yesterday, all three put pen to paper on new one year extensions at the club.

Speaking to the Official Site our new manager Sami Hyypia said of their commitments.

'Casper, Bruno and Inigo have been important members of the squad in recent years, and I am pleased they have agreed terms for another year. They're experienced heads with a lot of games between them, they know the Championship well and they give us continuity within the squad.'

Hyypia says that he had limited knowledge of all three players, but David and Nathan have more than clued him in to their importance to us and their general levels of consistency and application on the pitch - and that goes for all of the players in the squad, so with that knowledge, along with the DVD's he has studied from our last campaign, 'I can see their qualities and I'm sure they'll continue to be key for us in the season ahead.'

All three were out of contract this summer, but the club had announced their intention to offer them new deals.
