Walton Attracts Premier Attention

Walton Attracts Premier Attention

As it stands Christian Walton is going to be Brighton's second choice goalkeeper next season, at least.

With only one senior goalkeeper on the Albion books following the release of both Peter Brezovan and Tomasz Kuszczak the highly rated England U19 international could play a bigger part than he did last season, which saw him named on the bench by Oscar a few times.

Then again he could leave the Amex if reports are correct?

His Dad, who also acts as his representative, has made claims that both Arsenal and Man City are watching the 18 year old and could make an approach for him this summer, which if they do they'll not get him cheap as he's still got two years left on his contract.

Moving on isn't something that I think Walton would be wise in doing this summer as it'll be a move to soon that I expect would see his career stagnate at either of those clubs.

Something a little more confirmed, and official, was Albion's announcing of a pre season friendly against south coast rivals Southampton that was announced this week.

We'll play the Premier League side at the Amex on Thursday 31st July at 7:45pm.
