Toko Looking For Bright-on Future

New midfielder Toko Nzuzi has said he feels the future is bright for Brighton and he's looking forward to proving himself in the Championship.

The 24 year old will officially join us on July 1st on a contract that sees him remain at the Amex until the summer of 2013.

With no signings expected whilst we are minus a manager, Chairman Tony Bloom explained to the Official Site.

'We concluded a deal to sign Toko before their season and ours had ended. Now that Toko has completed the season with Grasshopper Zurich we are delighted to welcome him to Brighton.'

Speaking himself since making the move, he explained that he turned down the opportunity of remaining with Grasshopper, who have Champions League football next season, because he wanted to experience the English game and he feels Brighton are a club moving in the right direction.

'I had other options in Turkey and Italy, but I've always liked English football. It was a dream and for me, Brighton is a club of the future and this is why I made the decision.'

Toko goes on to say that it was very hard for him to leave Grasshopper, because he's been with them for the past 12 years, but he feels it's time for him to seek a new challenge now and he comes to us hoping for success and promotion to the Premier League.

Ending the interview he admits he prefers the central midfield role, but it seems he's quite versatile as a player really, as he's also played up front, at both full back positions and even in goal, so far in his career.

Be interesting to see where we use him!
