Mackay Ruled Out

Mackay Ruled Out

Malky Mackay is keen to get back into management and is one of the bookies favourites to succeed Oscar.

Taking the job at Brighton seems unlikely with his agent Raymond Sparkes telling the Argus that as attractive as Mackay sees the Albion job as being it isn't one that he will be looking to take on.

Interest is being shown in him, and talks have taken place with clubs, but we're not in his thoughts.

'I'm aware it is an opening that has become available and for many people it would be a very attractive job.

'I'm full of admiration for the attraction of that club but we are actively involved in a couple of things - and they are not Brighton.'

I would have been more than happy if we could have appointed the former Cardiff manager as our next manager but I can't say I'm that surprised that his next job in management is unlikely to be at the Amex.

At least we can rule out one name!
