Garcia - We Can Be Proud Despite Loss

Head coach Oscar Garcia has said he remains proud and he feels the fans can remain proud despite our play off dream being over following today's 2nd leg loss to Derby County.

Having excited the 1st leg with a small advantage, they were simply better on the day today and romped to a 4-1 victory with LuaLua sparing a few blushes with a late consolation in the game.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Oscar was obviously disappointed with how our play off battle went, but he believes the bigger picture is the fact that reaching the play offs was a success in itself, and again it's something we can look to build on next season, hopefully with a better outcome.

'I think if you can see the whole picture, it has been a fantastic season for us. Not many people would have thought we could reach the play offs with all the injuries and everything that's happened during the season, so it's a great achievement for us.'

Oscar goes on to say that outside of the two penalties in the first leg, he really doesn't have any complaints with how the two games went, Derby were simply better than us over the course of the 180 minutes - especially today - so nit picking at things would only be seeking excuses, and excuses won't help us learn from this, we just have to acknowledge where we weren't good enough and look to improve on it next season.

A lot of positives to take from the season, some very good highs and of course we have the positives of the youngsters having a season of experience under their belts again so they should be better prepared next campaign and we just have to hope that if we can't be consistent enough for the automatic spots in 2014-15, that our experience in the last two seasons when it comes to the play offs can see us go one better.
