'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Garcia Hails Brighton Warriors

Head coach Oscar Garcia has hailed the performance of the players as they overcame already promoted Leicester City in last night's fixture.

A comprehensive and much wanted four one victory at the King Power Stadium last night against a side who will be in the Premiership, and have been unbeaten in the last 20 or so games going back to the last time we met this season where we also took maximum points was the perfect confidence boost following the run of losses we have had in recent times and lifts us to within two points of the play off spots.

Speaking to the Official Site following the dominant display, Garcia beamed.

'We wanted to play with 18 warriors and the players did that. It's a massive result for us and I couldn't be more proud of my players. I'm really pleased because it's not easy to come here and play in the way we did but we were the better team from the start until the end.'

Garcia said he knew the best chance of victory we had was to play with the high tempo he knows we are capable of, and as far as he's concerned we went out there and did that against a team he considers to be the best in the league given the run they have been on, and with how long they have now topped the table and been so many points clear.

'Stephen Ward played the whole second half with a swollen ankle and I am very proud of him and for Leo's confidence it will be very good, he helped us a lot. But I do not want to speak about individuals because all the players' performances were spectacular.'

You could argue with the wobble we have had in recent games, with three defeats on the trot and then back to back draw most recently, we were not only due a performance like that, but a result like that given our efforts haven't always produced the goals for we'd have wanted.

It's the perfect time to have hit form like that though, especially if we can now maintain it over the coming fixtures, and if we can back that up with another good win over Charlton and other results go our way, things could look very rosy indeed.
