Blackburn v Brighton (Preview)

Blackburn v Brighton (Preview)

The Brighton game in hand over most of our play off rivals is played tonight and the game at Blackburn, rearranged due to an FA Cup game earlier in the season, needs to be won.

Should the appeal against Grant Hanley's sending off on Saturday be successful then he'll be involved tonight, if not he'll start a suspension for Blackburn.

Injury leaves Rudy Gestede needing a fitness test but Liam Feeney is back after being ineligible to face Millwall but Ben Marshall is out again due to an ankle injury with a similar problem preventing Adam Henley from playing again this season.

A recurrence of his hamstring injury means that Albion are without Will Buckley, with him to miss out for at least two weeks.

Will Hoskins (calf) and Andrea Orlandi (thigh) are still injured with Andrew Crofts (knee) out until next season.

It's been a battle between Hoskins and Craig Mackail-Smith as to who will come back first, it's swayed one way and then the other but the Scottish international is getting closer and closer now but tonight's a game too soon for Mackail-Smith.

If Albion aren't able to win at Ewood Park tonight then our play off chances will become very slim. They wouldn't be over but being a mere one point behind Reading, having played the same number of games and being ahead of any other play off challengers, would be an easier amount to overturn and leave it more in our own hands.

A point is better than none but with Reading's superior goal difference that's basically worth another point so moving to within a point is almost a must.

Repeating the 3-0 win we secured at the Amex would be wonderful.
