Garcia - I'd Have Been Disappointed With A Point

Head coach Oscar Garcia has said he would've been disappointed with a point in last night's game against Sheffield Wednesday, so to see them sneak a 90th minute winner in the match, left the gaffer absolutely gutted at full time.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match, and with the record that we have never won at Hillsborough still intact, it was a case of frustration in every direction Oscar looks during his press conference.

'It was a very cruel blow, we were much better than them and I felt we deserved to win - but with our main striker and goalscorer missing through illness that made it very hard for us to score a goal. It was a problem, we have been crossing our fingers and hoping it wouldn't happen.'

Garcia goes on to explain that Leo Ulloa admitted he was ill earlier in the morning, but at the point he and the medical staff were confident that he'd be able to play - or at the very least a half maybe - but sadly as the day wore on he felt worse, and despite trying to rest at the hotel he had to admit he wasn't up to it and wasn't right to play.

'Without Leo we tried something different. We thought that we would have spaces in behind their defence so we played David Rodriguez and Jesse Lingard down the middle. I am sorry for the fans and for the players, because they are doing everything they can to win these games. The players are creating chances and playing well but I believe we can play better.'

The sooner we get some back from injury and have them fit and sharp the better really, just simply have to do something to find an alternative to Leo to help take the pressure off.

Jesse Lingard also spoke following the game and admitted that we basically did everything right other than find the correct final ball during the game.

The on loan Manchester United youngster said.

'It's very disappointing as we dominated the game on a pitch that wasn't very playable. We got the ball down, created chances - but for them to score right at the end was a massive blow.'

As Lingard points out though, creating chances and not taking them is a far better problem to have than not creating chances at all, so the players just have to redouble their efforts and keep their belief that this will turn for them, but that doesn't do much for the disappointment of the other night.
