Oscar - Confidence Is High
Head coach Oscar Garcia has insisted confidence is high despite the loss to Hull in the FA Cup, because everyone took heart from how we ended the game.
As we gear back up now for a somewhat gruelling end of the season fixture run in the league and our hopes and aims for promotion this term, Garcia said that confidence hasn't taken a knock following the FA cup exit and that all of the players are ready now to take their frustrations from the Hull games out on our upcoming opponents.
Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game this weekend against a struggling Millwall side, the gaffer explained.
'The players are still very confident because they want to win every game. Sometimes that's not always possible but we are going there to have a go and we'll be trying to return with the three points. It'll be tough because they're playing really well at home, but we are looking forward to the challenge.'
Leo Ulloa echoes the thoughts of the gaffer ahead of our next league encounter, by calling on the players to perform for 90 minutes in the manner that we ended the Hull match.
'We left Hull with a good taste in our mouths because we ended the game dominating and attacking, there was more intensity. We need to go our with this same intensity in every game that remains. We are not far away but we need to play for 90 minutes in the same way.'
Ulloa says that if anything the team can take a wake up call and lesson from what was an uncharacteristically awful first 45 minutes and let it serve as a reminder that we can't ghost through games giving less than our all as that is what happens, yet when we were giving our all we were again a good match for an impressive Hull side in the Premiership and that's ultimately where we want to be come next season.
