Ward - Back Home With A Bang

Ward - Back Home With A Bang

Following on from the run of four successive away games on the trot, Stephen Ward has said today was the perfect way to start a run of four home games on the trot also.

Speaking to the Official Site following the one nil victory thanks to a winning goal from Leo Ullua, Ward said that he felt we were definitely worthy winners on the day, and he's hoping we can be worthy winners for the next three games as well.

'It's great because we've had a tough couple of weeks on the road and probably should have got more points than we did, but it was nice to get back here. It was a game we should've put to bed earlier but it was nice to win 1-0 and keep a clean sheet and now we move on to Tuesday.'

Ward goes on to say that at points with the results we have had of late, he appreciates the team probably looked a bit nervy, but that will be eradicated with confidence getting a boost again now, and we should've been more comfortable in the game anyway.

One thing that he feels the team can take confidence from is that Doncaster played well and stuck to their plan manfully, so it did take us a while to break them down, but not only did we break them down we also created a number of good opportunities that really we should've taken and increased our goal scoring margin.

It is however another three points on the board driving us towards where we want to be, and that, at the end of the day, is what counts.
