Worst Case Crofts Fears Materialise

Worst Case Crofts Fears Materialise

Immediately following Brighton's win over Birmingham yesterday Oscar spoke about his fears that Andrew Crofts had sustained a bad one and those worst case fears came true today with him out for the season.

An MRI scan has confirmed that Crofts had ruptured his cruciate ligament and that'll prevent him from playing any further part for Albion this season, which has left Oscar reeling when talking on the official website as he knows what a miss he'll be.

Oscar said: 'I am very sorry for Crofty, he has been excellent this season and a key player.

'He wanted to play a big part in our season after missing so much of the last campaign through injury.

'Of course, he has already done that, with his performances and the key goals he has scored, and he will be a big loss - but we have a good squad with strength in depth to deal with this type of situation.'

Crofts will go in for knee surgery next week and will be out for at least six-months so the earliest he'll be back will be for pre-season training for next season, hopefully a get well gift in the shape of Premier League promotion can help with his recovery.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Liam Bridcutt now? Albion do have good squad depth but losing Crofts to injury would make losing Bridcutt to a transfer even harder to take now.
