'If It's Football, It's Vital'

An Enjoyable Outing For Leo

Leonardo Ulloa has said he was delighted to get back on the pitch on Boxing Day, and he's now looking forward to get his full match fitness back and playing regularly again.

The striker completed his first full 90 minutes since August in the 3-2 defeat to Charlton, and although he was delighted to have grabbed a brace in the game, he told the Official Site that he knows he still has a way to go yet in terms of full fitness but that will come in time now.

'Playing the whole game with no discomfort was the most important thing for me but I feel like I'm still lacking something in terms of physical fitness.'

It was a big day for him though having been used as a sub lately to ease him back into things, but overcoming the 90 minutes without issue, he can cope with the tiredness and although he appreciated the gaffer being very interest in how he felt at half time in terms of whether he could continue in the match, but knowing we needed a goal he wasn't going to come off without a bit of a fight.

'The boss was asking me how I was doing, how I felt, I was a bit tired because the pitch was hard work, but we needed a goal and I didn't want to go off. I'm happy to get the goals, but sad that we lost.'

It's also Ulloa's first festive period at the club having made his debut last January, and he feels that the time of year brings something special to football and it's certainly different from he's experienced so far and he's enjoying it, even though playing so quickly does bring it's own challenges for players in terms of suitable recovery and ensuring you don't overly enjoy Christmas Day dinner and whatever trimmings may be associated with that.

On to Blackpool and hopefully three points.
