Positives For El-Abd

Despite the disappointment of not finding the all important goal in the game against Huddersfield, Adam El'Abd said that there were certainly positives the team could take from the game and the natural disappointment at not taking all three points and only seeing a reward of one, can be overwritten by those positives in many ways.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, he explained.

'We didn't lose and we're on a bit of an unbeaten run so hopefully we can take that into Boxing Day and have a good Christmas period. The lads gave everything and in the first half we were perhaps a little lethargic, but second half we really took the game to them. Huddersfield are a good team and on their day they can beat anyone, but that's the Championship.'

For El-Abd he goes on to say that in his eyes in the dressing room we have a squad more than capable of winning any game, and for him it really was a case that on another day he'd have been sat there talking about a win and not a draw as all we needed was that bit of luck, a break in front of goal and we would've in fact won.

He also says that he feels that this is definitely the strongest squad we've ever had at the club so for him the future bodes very well indeed, but what matters is we need to maintain our levels and we need to be more consistent in games and then we really will see the rewards of the talent we now have within the team.

As for where we can finish this season, the future will hold the answer for that, but El-Abd sees no reason why - should we find that consistency - we can't be in the mix and make up the points we need to over the second half of the season.
