Gijon 1 - 2 Albion - Full Time

A good start by the Albion with Ashley Barnes smacking in a 25 yarder.

Meanwhile, after an hour the Albion Development squad are losing 2-0 to Braga their Portugese hosts.

With the half hour mark approaching Albion attacking well in an evenly contested game but still just the one goal separating them.

in the 32nd minute a cross from Orlandi flicks off a Gijon head and hits the post.

Who says nobody gets booked in a friendly? Ashley 'psycho' Barnes has managed it in Sergovia. Just afterwards, Brezovan makes a good save in a one on one.

Half time and it's Gijon 0 - 1 Albion, Barnes the scorer.

With the second half underway, Albion ring the changes with a starting 11 of Ankergren, Calderon, Dunk, Upson, Maksimenko, Ince, Crofts, March Ulloa, Barker LuaLua.

Gijon having most half chances in this quiet second half, Ince booked for Albion.

Dunk misses with a good headed chance at a corner (bleeding centre halves!)

Ince gets sent off for a second yellow whist giving away a penalty. which is duly despatched by Albion target 'Cases' to make it 1-1.

Referee is having a 'mare'but Gijon allow Albion to bring Chicksen back on to make the numbers up again, maybe that's why they are called Sporting?

Ulloa gets his head to the ball first and puts the Albion 2-1 up with a couple of minutes plus stoppage time to play, unless the ref thinks there's extra time and penalties.

Albion make it three wins out of three but concede their first goal against. Personally I think they have been tremendous results against good quality opponents in very unlike English conditions.
Great result you Seagulls!!!
