Albion eye O'Neil deal

Albion eye O'Neil deal

Albion are reportedly one of a host of clubs keen on securing the services of ex-West Ham midfielder Gary O'Neil.

The vastly experienced 30-year-old was released by the Hammers this summer, after rejecting a new deal with a reduced wage - alerting a number of sides to his availability as a free agent.

Metro.co.uk are reporting that the Seagulls may need to see off competition from rivals Crystal Palace for O'Neil's signature, which would be no mean feat given the South Londoners' newly-acquired top flight status.

With almost 350 league appearances to his name, O'Neil would prove a useful addition for the Albion - with the former Pompey man able to operate both in a central midfield role, or as a disciplined right midfielder.
