Latvian prospect Vitalijs Maksimenko has joined League One Yeovil on loan.
The 22-year-old defender links up with the Glovers on a one-month deal, with Gary Johnson's side challenging for promotion to the Championship having worked their way into the play-off picture in recent weeks.
Despite not having featured for the Seagulls since signing a development squad contract in January, Maxi was recently capped at full international level for Latvia, making his debut against Japan in February.
Development squad coach Luke Williams told seagulls.co.uk, "Firstly he is at the age where he needs to be playing and experiencing first-team football and he has the ability to do that. He needs to learn the English game as it can be very fast.
"Secondly he needs to not only impress Brighton but he needs to keep playing for national side, he wants to keep his status as an international footballer so playing first-team football will help that.
"We like him a lot, we think he has all the skills he needs to be a pro in England. Now it is a case of trying to build-up experience so that he is used to the pace and competitiveness of English football.
"He is very strong and determined to be a footballer and he needs to get used to the pace and physical nature of league football."
