No ground lost in play-off quest

Albion remain 4 points adrift of 6th place Middlesbrough following this weekend's round of Championship fixtures.

Poyet's men were not in action on Saturday owing to Barnsley's continued involvement in the FA Cup - and thus were forced to keep an eye on their divisional rivals in the hope of not slipping any further from the top six.

Indeed, thanks to arch-rivals Crystal Palace, who secured a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Middlesbrough, the gap between Albion and the above play-off pack remains 4 points - with the Seagulls now possessing a game in hand over the 6th place Teessiders.

Immediately below, Derby and Forest both secured draws at home, whilst the only non-top six side to win were Ipswich, who are still looking to shake free of any fears of a relegation battle heading into the run-in.
