Albion snap up young Plymouth keeper

Albion today completed the signing of highly-rated Plymouth goalkeeper Christian Walton.

The 17-year-old has penned a long-term deal at the Amex after impressing during a trial, with the Seagulls nipping ahead of a number of other clubs to secure the youngster's signature.

Walton told the official site, "It's a great opportunity for me. I just want to knuckle down, work hard and hopefully one day I will break into the first-team squad.

"I was at the Amex on Tuesday night to watch Brighton play Blackburn and I liked the way the team played, and with the training ground on the way it's a great opportunity for me.

"Tomasz Kuszczak is a great keeper and has a lot of experience so I'm looking forward to learning off him and the other senior keepers at the club.

"I learned a lot during the short time that I was on trial and I've really enjoyed it. It's a club on the up and I couldn't turn down the opportunity to come here."
