Marcos Painter has joined League One Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old left-back links up with ex-Albion players Tommy Elphick, Steve Cook and Wes Fogden at Dean Court, where the table-topping Cherries are gunning for promotion to the Championship under club legend Eddie Howe.
Painter has seen his chances limited for the Seagulls this season, owing to the tremendous form of Wayne Bridge, and thus it would appear a decent move for the ex-Swansea man to get some regular game time and possibly add another League One winners medal to his collection.
Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, "Marcos is always a great professional to have around the club but he has not had a lot of chances to play this season because of the form and quality of Wayne Bridge.
"It's important for Marcos to be playing regular football so it was a good decision for him to move to Bournemouth on loan, where he can help them push for promotion out of League One.
"We hope that he has successful remainder of the season."
The Birmingham City graduate, whose contract at the Amex expires this summer, has made 79 appearances for the Albion - the majority of those coming during the club's League One title winning campaign in 2010/11.
Best of luck to Marcos at Bournemouth.
