Dobbie heads for Palace

Stephen Dobbie has made a late loan switch to rivals Crystal Palace.

The Scottish striker links up with former boss Ian Holloway at the Selhurst Park outfit, where he will stay for the rest of the 2012-13 season - although he will not be eligible to face the Seagulls in the Amex fixture in March.

A fringe player for the most part since his summer move from Swansea, Dobbie has made just 5 starts for the Seagulls, as he's progressively fallen down the striker pecking order. He is expected to make his Palace loan permanent on July 1st.

Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, "It's about playing football for him. I would say it's a situation like Steven Pienaar; he's a terrific player and did very well at Everton but when he moved to Tottenham it just didn't work, for whatever reason. He returned to Everton and he's a fantastic player again.

"Sometimes it's not about the player, the manager or the way the team plays, there is just something that didn't click and didn't work. We wish him well during the time that he is at Crystal Palace."
