Albion braced for 9.00am inspection

Match officials for this afternoon's Championship clash at Birmingham will carry out a 9.00am pitch inspection to decide whether the game will go ahead.

Yesterday's snowfall had put the game in doubt, however improved conditions this morning should at least see the pitch in a playable state - with referee Phil Dowd set to inspect the surface and make a final decision by 9am.

As is often the case, the pitch being playable won't necessarily signal an immediate green light, with the surrounding areas of the stadium set to be a key factor - as the safety of the fans traveling to and from St. Andreas takes precedence.

An update will follow after inspection takes place.
