Poyet has made two changes from the side that lost to Middlesbrough at the weekend, with Gary Dicker and Will Buckley returning to the starting line-up.
Buckley provides the pace and natural width that was sorely lacking from Saturday's starting XI, replacing David Lopez - whilst Dicker comes in for Dean Hammond, earning his first start in almost a month.
Liam Bridcutt and Andrew Crofts make up the rest of the midfield, with Mackail-Smith leading the line ahead of Ashley Barnes, who will no doubt occupy a more withdrawn role, fulfilling his defensive duties.
Unsurprisingly, Poyet has opted for the same back five, with Bruno and Wayne Bridge expected to bomb on and help out in attack. Striker Stephen Dobbie has to again make do with a place on the bench.
